I am starting something new with the kids this month. We will be learning about a new author every month!

In the lower grades (K-3) we will be studying about David Shannon. The author and illustrator of the No David books. Last week we read the book No David. We also learned that he wrote the book when he was five years old, but didn't have it published until 1998. The younger grades have really enjoyed getting to know about the authors of the books they are reading!

In the upper grades (4-6) we will start this week with the author Dan Gutman author of The Homework Machine. We will read Dan's biography this week. Then next week they will research on their own some interesting facts and do a biography report on him.
